The Deer Slayer...

Viewer Discretion Advised!!!
The following details my deer hunting experience today. Don't read on if Bambi is your favorite movie, you're vegetarian, a member of PETA, or my wife.

Saturday...

This will need some water color to get the point across. It'll have droplets of water falling from the silhouetted trees. (Ohhh. Ahhhh.)

Deer Camp Wine...

Hopefully the last post ever about Deer Camp Wine labels. Here's what they might look like on the bottles and I did three more possible ones down below. Done. I'm really done with these now.

Deer Camp Wine...

Hopefully the last of the Deer Camp Wine labels. Three main images and a host of different possibilities for text placement should be enough. It was a fun project, but I'm glad it's done. Now onto the book!

Deer Camp Wine...

Some finished labels. Many variations. Still have some touch ups that need to be done.

Deer Camp Wine...

Another image has been drawn for the Deer Camp Wine label. This has been a fun, but laborious process. I became very aware of the process today and will show some different scans of the work in progress. This has been fun for many reasons. I haven't done something this finished in a long time. It ends up looking way better than I thought it could. And I get to see how much I've improved over the past six months.

Yesterday's really rough sketches at the bottom of the page of the "Sleeping Hunter."

Yesterday's, light red pencil lines, trying to position everything.

Defined red lines and penciled over them to solidify them even more for inking.

Started inking over penciled lines.

Fulling inked and showing random red pencil lines.

Black and white scan that gets rid of the red pencil lines. Now it just needs some lettering!

Dad, thanks for the idea! Christine, thanks for allowing me to lock myself away in my office on the day you find out you have a job for next year. YEA!!!

Deer Camp Wine...

I was hoping to have another label done today, but I was lazy and slept in this morning. Maybe tomorrow.

The next one I'm working on will show a sleeping hunter being sniffed by a buck.

This shows sketches from today and yesterday. The top one are of the "Busty Doe" and the ones at the bottom are the "Sleeping Hunter."

This is the rough beginning of the "Sleeping Hunter." It's hard to see, but the hunter is sleeping against a tree and the buck is peeking around sniffing him.

Deer Camp Wine...

Deer Camp Wine

I've had many posts mapping out ideas for possible "Deer Camp" wine labels for my father-in-law who makes his own wine. His request was that I make a label with a "busty doe" drinking wine. I've found this to be a difficult task. Below are two almost finished attempts. I just need to add the wording and color.

No busty doe, but they're drinking wine.

The busty doe. I put this one off for a long time, but I think it turned out okay. Something is off with the eyes. Not sure what exactly...

Ideas a brewing...

I realize it's not a lot of drawing, but I had way too many ideas that I just had to write and sketch out before I forgot them. Thanks for the help Dad!

Deer Camp Wine...

Worked a little more on the Deer Camp Wine labels. Don't really like how it's turning out so far. I've decided I'm just going to crank out a couple and hopefully they'll like some.

Deer Camp Wine...

Some more ideas for wine labels. I'll try to make a couple finished labels this next week and see if my father-in-law likes any of them. Any opinions?

More attempts at Deer Camp Wine labels.
