Let's get caught up...

Here are my visual journal entries from the past few days, which I actually colored. How about that?

My father-in-law also asked me to draw a wine label of his twin brother and business partner, in a similar fashion for what I did for him.
Here's a bit of the process for his twin brother...

Post 504

I've made over 500 posts!

Here are three more that I need to water color yet. Not sure if I'm going to get caught up on that. Wait! I've got one more day of school. Maybe I'll get caught up sooner than I thought!

I'm trying to make my entries the same size, just like American Elf and Spina Doodles. It's working out nicely and should allow me to fit in photographs from the day next to the drawings.

Black eye...

My black eye has become much more significant since the last picture I posted. Not quite sure why, but it has turned all kinds of black and blue. I'll post another picture soon. It's awesome!

Dangerous buttons...

I ended up getting a bit of a black eye. Everybody's going to think I got in a fight at the protests!

Three hour school board meeting

Not one of my best visual drawings, but I made myself draw it and post it because I need to get comfortable drawing in public. I had people all around me and my wife said I was all hunched over. People were probably paying me more attention because I was being all secretive.

Anyway, this was done at a school board meeting in my wife's school district where they are facing the problem of being $2,000,000 over budget for next school year. Nuts. After three hours I think they decided to have a referendum in April. It was a long meeting with many interesting perspectives. My brain is now mush. Goodnight.

Homecoming...

My wife is a photography teacher at a high school. She had to take photographs of their Homecoming activities. I came along for the free food (She bought me a ticket.). It was great food and I had a Sprecher Cream Soda with it!

My latest inspiration: American Elf, Volume 1: The Collected Sketckbook Diaries of James Kochalka, by James Kochalka.

From good to bad...

It was a stressful day for my wife in the beginning, but worked out great in the end. Congratulations to my wife! She got a new job and now makes triple what she did before! Awesomeness!

School Sketchbook...

Haven't drawn in my school sketchbook in a while. This year's group has been so much better than last year's. Even two days before winter break, these kids aren't freaking out yet. Amazing.

Kids...

Teaching provides an endless source of blog posts. Those are multicolored casts by the way.

On the road to finishing...

It's getting finished, but in a slightly out of order manner. Brace yourselves.

Gorilla me...

Christine: You should have drawn the kids as kittens.
Me: But kittens aren't kittenly. Squirrels are squirrelly.
Christine: Groan.

Whoops...

I knew it would happen eventually, but I was really hoping I would escape it. I was trying to watch "Dog the Bounty Hunter" and write in pen a the same time. Didn't work. Messed up and completely wrote the wrong thing. I'll have to try and fix it tomorrow.

Didn't mess this one up. Will water color tomorrow.

It's fun drawing myself as some huge hulking gorilla when in actuality I'm one of the frailest, skinniest runners around.

All caught up... again...

Eight months on daily posts, come and gone. Wild.

Caught up for now...

Ever seen Triumph, The Insult Dog? My hand looks like one of his hands. It's just kind of floating or at a weird angle or something. Note to self: Work on drawing hands.

What's this...

The spider with color. Not quite sure why I always insisted I liked my work in just black and white. Oh yeah, because I can't color. It's getting better though. I went back into this one with three different shades! That's new for me.

What's this? You're working ahead? Well, kind of. Still haven't water colored Wednesday's, but it's done. Thursday's is started as well. Still have to ink myself, but want to sleep on the pose. Looks weird, but I want it to. Is it the right kind of weird though?

The two entries will kind of go together too. Cool, huh?

Time to sleep.
