Amanda was putting on her hoody in the car and some how got the hood caught across the front of her face. It was quite entertaining.

I created both of these today since I had some extra time. However, neither one is actually from events that happened today.

That would be Pop-Ice, me, photography, and our kitties.

I've made over 500 posts!

Here are three more that I need to water color yet. Not sure if I'm going to get caught up on that. Wait! I've got one more day of school. Maybe I'll get caught up sooner than I thought!

I'm trying to make my entries the same size, just like American Elf and Spina Doodles. It's working out nicely and should allow me to fit in photographs from the day next to the drawings.

Foster Kittens

We are a half-way house for single mom cats and their unplanned kittens. My wife talked me into doing this years ago with the Humane Society and we have had almost 50 cats come through our house. Some needing meds, socialization, or growing until they weigh at least 2 lbs (Those were some very small kittens.). It was great, but we took a break for the last year and a half as we put the house on the market. Now we have the house off for a month, so we decided to have a group come through. We have three new kittens with ear mites, all needing to put on a few pounds before they can be adopted. It's great fun.

Our cats, that always live with us, have had to do a little adjusting. Emma's trying to make friends, but all her growling is a little intimidating. She's starting to share her toys under the door, though. That might just be a trick to get one close enough to grab and eat.

The kittens are actually very cute, and not quite a demonic as this one looks.

What will tomorrow bring?

Here are two more flowers I gave my wife. I thought the daisy stunk, so I didn't write anything on the back or count it as one of her twelve. I'll do one more and that will be her dozen.

Speaking of my wife, here she is with her favorite kitty, Emma.

Tomorrow will be interesting. Not only do I have jury duty , but my wife is bringing three, one month old foster kittens in our house. I wonder how Emma and Chin will react. It will be great visual journal material.

A Slump Dump...

I've kind of still been drawing. Just been really lazy about posting. I could use the excuse of school starting up and being crazy busy, but that would all be a lie. Just been lazy and drawing crappy stuff I don't really want to put up. I'm done pouting though and ready to try this again.

A week later.

Those cats offer hours of laughs and entertainment. Emma went up to the DVD player at least three times as I opened the DVD door with the remote control and jumped every single time. She was very wary of the door as I continued to do open and close it.

Yes, that's suppose to be my wife and I. I didn't think much of it when she answered the Chipotle worker. After she walked away she goes, "Oh my God. I felt like I went like, 'Huhh?'" and made this really crazy face. I was trying to draw the second face she made. How she felt she answered the girl.

Lazy cat...

Emma's a weird cat. When she did this for the first time I thought she might be sick, but she was running up and down the stairs after her mouse the next day. She must just be getting lazy... or maybe smarter. I don't know.

A day late...

Sorry mom! Thanks for keeping me honest. Here's what I got from last week...

A drew a pretty leaf!I've actually always wanted to try drawing a leaf, but haven't really gotten around to it. My father in law needed a leaf for a wine label. It was a "Red Wine Blend" that he flavored with oak chips. So, I drew an oak leaf. Here are the finished labels along with my wife's awesome "Bandit Owl" label for the Black Raspberry wine we made in our basement.
I also did some people watching/sketching while at a spelling bee for two of my students. "Arcane" and "apathy" are the words that finally got them out. I don't think I could have spelled those when I was in the fifth grade.
The wife and I went to Barnes and Noble on Friday night. It was memorable to say the least.
We've also been working hard on the bathroom remodel. My wife is the grouter. The shower floor is all tiled and now I can attack the curb. This will be all done one day.
Emma tried to help out, but got distracted by the water in the bucket. Something strange about that cat and water.

Cat book revealed...

Below shows the process for one of the pages I did for the cat book.

Did light pencils first.

Started Inking.

Finished inking and erased pencil lines.

When I water colored I layed them all out and went from one to the other. I would finish all the Emma's, then Chin's and any other similarities to try and keep them consistent. After that I went into each individual one.

Chin helped out a little...

...but usually got distracted.
