Running: Part One...

Sorry it's such a light scan. I haven't figure out how to get my red lead to show up looking nice with the scanner. If anybody knows some nice trips pass them along.

I could have finished this tonight, but decided I wanted it to look nice in the end. Imagine that!

This is the start of a few images I'll do about me getting ready to run. Prepping to run always starts with the same routine.

Great America...

I did this while trying to watch a movie and finished it quickly because I was tired. I didn't do much with the background and even if I'd had the time I'm not sure what I would have done. I've got to keep working on making my backgrounds look good.

And I'm back...

I made it back to Wisconsin and didn't have to wait in the airport for 12 hours. It's nice to be back.

Poolside...

Christine and I sat by the pool for a good part of the afternoon today. It was very relaxing. I love summer vacation! The below box shows one of our deep conversations while cooling off in the pool.

Grandparents...

I guess I can say I've done some drawings of people at coffee houses, but I've never drawn them while talking to them. That was a first for today and a lot of fun. I was still able to get away without having to show the drawings to them. That will be pretty embarrassing when that happens.

Another hot day in Arizona. These drawings are a two of the views I have from Christine's grandparents' back porch.

Exhaustion...

     My first day in Arizona was a full day. Christine and I spent 2-3 hours at the grocery store with her grandma. It was exhausting.

12 hours at the airport...

My wife made standby to Arizona, but I didn't. I was at the airport from 5:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. I actually kind of enjoyed it. I drew, read, listened to music and sat in almost every corner of the C terminal. I can't remember the last time I drew that much in one day.

Arizona...

Christine and I are flying out to Arizona tomorrow to visit her grandma and grandpa. I love flying and can't wait to get on the plane. It's always a little nerve racking though. It's amazing they can get off the ground.

I won't have a scanner, but should be able to post with photographs.

I try to read a couple of fluff books over the summer. I'm no Star Wars buff, but I've enjoyed reading Star Wars: Tales of the Bounty Hunters. This is Dengar, one of the bounty hunters.

Deer Camp Wine...

Some more ideas for wine labels. I'll try to make a couple finished labels this next week and see if my father-in-law likes any of them. Any opinions?

BLT...

It's a good thing my mom taught me to think before I speak. Christine would have been making fun of me for hours.

Haven't spent this much time on a drawing in a while. One of the more finished drawings I've done it a long time too. It felt great! I want to try and do a comic like this once a week, if I can get myself motivated and come up with something worth putting in a comic. You know... like BM sandwiches.

Another great summer day!

Coffee in the morning...

This morning my wife and I actually got up early and rode our bikes to Alterra. There were some construction workers pouring concrete across the street. It was a great first day of summer vacation.

Humberto Ramos is a huge influence on the style I'm trying to develop. We'll see what style I end up with once I find my own.

The rain barrel is finished and I actually like how it turned out. I wasn't really able to picture it in the beginning.

Long time coming...

It's been a long time coming, but I finally created a title picture. It doesn't fit quite right, but I'm not sure how to fix it at the moment. I'll worry about that later.

My wife explains to me that, that smell is the smell of still having to work one more week, which somehow taints the weekend.

I knew this post would come one day. Something Star Wars was just bound to happen. With only 9 days (NINE DAYS!!!) left of the school year I've been thinking about all the movies I want to watch over the summer. All the Star Wars movies are on the list. I might even be able to get my wife, who has never seen one all the way through, to watch one. Maybe.
