Raccoons...

More camping tales from Kohler-Andrae State park. The raccoons were everywhere. This guy hopped up on our picnic table, just 8 feet away from us, and stole our container of coleslaw. About a half hour later a group of six of them raided our neighbor's campsite. They were drunk and had passed out about an hour earlier.

I did this one kind of in the style of Dave McKean. He's the illustrator for the kid's book, The Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Gold Fish, written by Neil Gaiman. He's the guy who wrote The Sandman. The book is really weird, but the art and and story telling is amazing. A great mix of comic book style, kid's picture book, and something else unknown to me. This is an excerpt from the book. I highly recommend it.

Here are a few prints from my printmaking class I finished this summer. The first is an intaglio followed by a lithography. Later, I'll scan the screen prints and post those.

  1. Great post today! You've inspired me to try some more watercolors. I usually use Copic markers and i actually really like them and can get a bit of a watercolor effect with them and the blender marker, but I really should experiment more with actual paint or ink.

Thanks for posting your printing projects too! I'm looking forward to seeing more. Love the perspective on the last one.
