Chin, on the rise...

Water coloring is not done yet. The first day of school is tomorrow and my School Year Resolution is to get more sleep. I have to have my head on the pillow by midnight, so I'm making myself go up by 11:00. Not sure how I can waste so much time in the evening, but it happens. Watercolor tomorrow.

UFC 102...

Not my best work, but wanted to be done. Bummer that Randy didn't win.

Caught up again...

Thursday's journal entry.

Friday's Journal Entry.

Barnes and Noble...

This entry is a little out of order and still needs to be water colored. I didn't have the reference material I wanted for the Aug. 27th drawing so you'll see that tomorrow.

Tried something a little different with how I usually draw. Not sure if I like it. We'll see what it looks like after the watercolor.

Later Folks.

Page #31...

Ha! I just finished my 31st page of my moleskine, which means I just passed the halfway mark. 29 more days to go and I'll be done. It's been great doing this and I've learned a lot, but it's a huge time commitment each day.

Summer's over (sniffle, sniffle)...

It was one of those storms where it's quiet outside, then all of a sudden there is a huge clap of thunder and the skies open with a torrential downpour.

I saw the raccoon at night time and was going for more of the night time look, but didn't quite pull it off. Despite that I'm happy with the shading and using ink along with pencil lines.

Matrix Move...

Tried to use some photo reference to help me out with the hands. Notice our cat's toes at the top?

Caught up for now...

Ever seen Triumph, The Insult Dog? My hand looks like one of his hands. It's just kind of floating or at a weird angle or something. Note to self: Work on drawing hands.

What's this...

The spider with color. Not quite sure why I always insisted I liked my work in just black and white. Oh yeah, because I can't color. It's getting better though. I went back into this one with three different shades! That's new for me.

What's this? You're working ahead? Well, kind of. Still haven't water colored Wednesday's, but it's done. Thursday's is started as well. Still have to ink myself, but want to sleep on the pose. Looks weird, but I want it to. Is it the right kind of weird though?

The two entries will kind of go together too. Cool, huh?

Time to sleep.

Playing catch up...

Finished and water colored.

Once again, a little behind. Still have to write and water color yesterday's page. I've got to get back on track. It's getting a little stressful. School's about to start!!!

CATS versus KIDS...

My printer/scanner is acting up so I had to take a picture. It's getting late, so I'll water color tomorrow. Journal entry inspired by cousin-in-law visit and their kid, Anne.

All caught up...

Two days ago, late journal entry.

Journal entry for yesterday.

Finally, all caught up.

Falling behind part 2...

I've gotten behind again. The garage sale thing is killing me. Today was the last day and I can get back to my normal schedule. It was all worth it though. We made a killing.

These are rough sketches that Christine and I made of people who came to our garage sale. If you want good people watching and drawing, have a garage sale. You meet some of the most "interesting" people. A journal entry about this is yet to come.

Monopoly continued...

Yesterday's post now finished.

Be forewarned. Sappiness Alert!

Falling behind...

Okay, I've fallen behind. It's the first time in a little over two weeks though! Too tired. Have to do Garage Sale tomorrow. Probably plenty of time to sit and draw then.

Be happy. You get to see a work in progress! Until next time.

Battle Beasts...

I never had a lot of Battle Beasts, but I vividly remember the ones I have: Web Slinger Spider, Ferocious Tiger, and Killer Carp. Sigh, to be a kid again.

Film Noir...

I don't think I've ever used this much black before. It was fun for my first attempt at film noir. I want to try and use more black in my illustrations.

Zombie Ben...

My scanner is being difficult and not showing the true colors of my water coloring. My skin is suppose to be a gross green color. Not quite sure how to fix it.

Cat book revealed...

Below shows the process for one of the pages I did for the cat book.

Did light pencils first.

Started Inking.

Finished inking and erased pencil lines.

When I water colored I layed them all out and went from one to the other. I would finish all the Emma's, then Chin's and any other similarities to try and keep them consistent. After that I went into each individual one.

Chin helped out a little...

...but usually got distracted.

Chin's adoption...

Below are the cat book pages watercolored. I'm glad it's finally done. The watercoloring took forever and I think I bite off a bit more than I could chew. It was a learning process and my watercolors will look better next time. All in all I'm happy with how it turned out.
